Careful noticing is my companion and ally.  I am interested in how a barely seen image, in the peripheral outskirts of vision, can evoke stillness, tenderness, and intimacy.  The paintings carve a sense of quiet out of organic shapes, suggested rhythms, and muted oil colors.  The drawings distill a moment within the brevity of a mark, an inquiring edge of charcoal, and traces of oil pastels on white paper.  A dragged line or fleshy blob of peach leans towards spatial landscape or figuration.

Inside a world of cacophonous noise, the work claims a space of openness, listening, and vulnerability. It holds an invitation to pause long enough to suspend thoughts, to notice the tender, quiet, subtle perceptions of this moment. The work is in a wordless conversation about embodied presence, attentive seeing, beauty, sensuality, inner worlds, and the poetry of silence.

From my birth in Peru to deeply religious Argentinian parents, to living in Uruguay, Argentina, Switzerland, Mexico, and seven US states, my work is a centering of calm inside a constant state of change. The paintings and drawings explore how a work of art can become a soundless act of resonance and grace.
